Turkey Day at the Beach

"All I got was the liver!" There was turkey legs and turkey breast. There was gravy and salmon pate. It all smelled so good and all I got was the liver.

We went to Aunt Stef and Uncle Matt's on the Oregon Coast for Thanksgiving. It was a very nice time.

My cousin Abby was there. Abby is a 12 year old Chow and she is Grumpy!. Ma says she has artheritis and is scared I might play too hard and hurt her. So she gives me good warning to stay away. I can understand.

Abby went with me for two nice walks on the beach after that she almost played with me. The 5ft birth she demanded when I first got there turned into a 2ft birth after the walks.

Ma let me run with no leash on the beach for a few minutes. There is nothing to be more thankfull for than open spaces to run......

Thanksgiving just seems to be an okay day, I think I would like to go along again next year. On the way home we stopped at a craft fair. I couldn't go in but Ma said it was a nice show. It was a local show at the Polk County Fairgrounds.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, Old Fart, Ma and I wish you all the best to be thankful for!

Miss Mims Sees Santa

I am not sure what the point of the day was, but I did enjoy it. I learned how to stand in line. The really great thing about standing in line is the fun friends you meet.

After we went for coffee and I got two treats form Christie my favorite coffee girl. Old fart and Ma took me to a place where there were many friends. We stood in line together. Behind us there were two schnauzers. One was very old and the other looked a lot like my cousin Niko. The schauzer's man owner seemed very fearful that I might get mad because the young one barked at me. Old fart and Ma, explained that I love schnauzers and what good friends Niko and I are. In front of us was a very pretty Australian sheppard and we shared some sniffing. When we got to the front of the line I met the most amazing man, He was dressed in a red suit and held me while a lady took my picture. I liked this man and I licked his face. When the lady was done taking my picture the funny man gave me a treat, it was red striped. Not really, it was actually a dog bone, but I enjoyed it just the same. Ma made up a whole photo album of my day so you could see more pictures.

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

In February 2008 I was rescued from a shelter in Colville Washington, I had been staying in a foster home with 20 other dogs and a nice man name Perry. One day Perry put me in the truck and drove me to Pasco to meet my new family.

As it turnded out my new family is an old fart couple of empty-nesters. The first few weeks I was on my best behavior because I had heard some bad things about folks who own Pitbulls. Yes, that’s right I am a Staffordshire Terrier / Lab cross. My man owner says I look a lot like a Pitbull. I call him “Old Fart”. He is a pretty nice guy. He plays with me a lot and I tolerate it when he scruffles my head. My lady owner isn’t too bad either. I call her Ma. I take her for walks as often as I can get her out. She really needs the exercise.

At first I was worried I was going to be bored without my 20 playmates but lately Old Fart and Ma have been taking me to art and craft festivals. It is a lot of fun. I meet lots of people who like to pet me and sometimes I get to sniff other dogs. It sounds like we will be going a lot more often since Ma is developing a website for artisans to show off their work.

I hope you all will keep up with my adventures as we travel to festivals, I will try to keep it interesting.

Love
Mims
